The misleading post appeared on a certain "Motorola Germany" page, and stated that an Android L update for the handsets will come later this year.
The following posts were seen in the page:
"Android 5.0 arrives in autumn on Moto X and Moto G,"
"Do you like the new design?"
In a Facebook post in the official Motorola page, the real Motorola Germany denied that the reports and stressed that there's only one page that they use for announcements.

"Unfortunately, we have found that a Facebook profile under the
name 'Motorola Germany' with the following URL facebook.com/MotoDACH/
was created," the company said. "We would like to point out that this is
not an official Motorola site and expressly distance ourselves from
said content. All relevant information about Motorola can be found only
here on this page."The page has been taken down or deleted as of this writing.
The first glimpse of Android L was previewed during the last Google I/O developer's conference in San Francisco.
The biggest focus is the new UI standard that gives depth to windows, dialogue boxes and visuals.
Android L has a Material Design that imitates the elements of a paper; Google's Matias Duterte provides more information on these intuitive surfaces in this video.
Google has been silent as to which devices will be updated with the new OS after beta program of Android L was made available for Nexus 5 and 7.
Moto X, which launched in August of 2013, marked the first line of smartphones manufactured since Google acquired the company in 2012.
New models of Motorola, Moto E and Moto G 4G have just been released in Australia and New Zealand, and will go on sale sometime in July.
